There is still no safe, recommended method to unlock the Switch 2. Everything is a proof of concept, with a risk of brick and ban.

Proof of concept: Mario Kart World shown running on macOS with an nxnative fork

On Oct 27, 2026, developer willfaustcuber posted on X a video of Mario Kart World running on macOS through a fork of nxnative. The video, about 2 minutes long, shows a Mac window called "Mario Kart World", the menus, the choice of Luigi and a real-time race on Mario Bros. Circuit. The picture has clear flaws: much of the scenery appears in flat yellow with no textures, one empty screen lasts about 36 seconds and the pause menu buttons have no text. nxnative, according to the project's description, is a project that runs Switch 1 games natively on Mac, iPhone and iPad; this is a fork by the video's author, and his version is not public yet.

Context

It is only a video demonstration: there is no release, code or public fork, and nobody else can test it. It is not an emulator, according to nxnative's description, but the video shows a very early and unstable state. We have not confirmed how the author obtained the game. It is still research and proof of concept; this does not change what the Switch 2 can do. This site does not publish step-by-step guides or download links.
