There is still no safe, recommended method to unlock the Switch 2. Everything is a proof of concept, with a risk of brick and ban.

Gezine says he got an email from Nintendo; its content was not revealed

On Oct 23, 2026, developer Gezine (@gezine_dev), who researches flaws in Switch 1 and 2, posted on X: "Bad news. I got email from Nintendo..." with a skull emoji. He did not say what the email says, did not show it, and did not explain whether it changes his plans to publish the exploit he had announced (an exploit is a flaw used to run unauthorized code).

Context

Several X accounts already claim Nintendo 'took action' against Gezine. This is NOT confirmed: the only source is his short post, and Nintendo has not commented publicly. Gezine's userland exploit (announced in Jul 2026) is still unreleased. Nothing changes in the jailbreak status: pepsipu's ns2jb is still a proof of concept on firmware 23.0.1, tethered (gone after reboot) and with no CFW.
